Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered their third consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets on May 3 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

Batting first, SRH were bowled out for 165 in 20 overs. Travis Head led the charge with a blistering 61 off 28 balls, smashing nine fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 217.86. He shared a quickfire 61-run partnership in just 32 balls with Ishan Kishan for the second wicket. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to capitalize. For KKR, Varun Chakravarthy was the standout performer with 3/36, while Sunil Narine (2/31) and Kartik Tyagi (2/30) provided solid support.

In response, KKR chased down the target comfortably in 18.2 overs, finishing at 169/3. Angkrish Raghuvanshi anchored the innings with a composed 59 off 47 balls, including five fours and two sixes. He stitched together a crucial 84-run stand with Ajinkya Rahane for the second wicket, which laid the foundation for the win.

Among SRH bowlers, Shivang Kumar impressed with his economy, conceding runs at just 7.80 per over. With this result, SRH remain third on the points table with six wins from 10 matches, while KKR, despite the victory, sit eighth with three wins from nine games.
