Gujarat Titans registered a convincing eight-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings on April 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026. In a contest where the pitch offered significant assistance to the bowlers, the visitors produced a clinical all-round performance to seal an important victory.

Batting first, CSK managed 158/7 in their 20 overs, a total that looked slightly below par given their strong batting lineup. The innings never quite gained momentum, largely due to disciplined bowling from GT. Kagiso Rabada was the standout performer with the ball, striking at crucial moments to derail CSK’s progress. He dismissed key batters, including Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel, putting the hosts under early pressure.

Amid the struggle, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad stood tall and anchored the innings with a composed unbeaten 74 off 60 balls. His knock included six boundaries and four sixes, ensuring CSK had something to defend. Shivam Dube provided valuable support, and the duo stitched together a 59-run partnership for the fifth wicket to steady the innings. For Gujarat Titans, Rabada finished with impressive figures of 3/25, while Arshad Khan chipped in with 2/43.

In reply, GT approached the chase with confidence and control. The highlight of the innings was a brilliant knock from Sai Sudharsan, who led the charge with a match-winning 87 off 46 deliveries. His innings, featuring four fours and seven sixes, came at an outstanding strike rate of 189.13.

GT chased down the target comfortably in just 16.4 overs, losing only two wickets in the process. With this victory, GT climbed to fifth place on the points table, securing their fourth win in eight matches. Meanwhile, CSK slipped to sixth position after registering their fifth defeat of the season.
