Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler Digvesh Rathi takes a breathtaking catch to dismiss in-form Vaibhav Sooryavanshi off the bowling of Mohsin Khan during their 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, April 22.
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) were put into bat by LSG captain Rishabh Pant and had a poor start to their innings, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel early in one over. Things would, however, take a turn for the worse in the very next over from Mohsin.
Bowling against the destructive Sooryavashi, Mohsin had the upper hand, bowling five consecutive dot balls. With pressure to score, Sooryavanshi skied a short ball, which had two fielders tracking back to grab the catch.
In the end, it was Rathi who judged the trajectory of the ball to perfection and calmly settled down under the ball to grab an excellent catch. This resulted in Mohsin bowling a maiden over to put LSG on the front foot in an all-important clash against RR.
The 2026 IPL has been a plethora of amazing catches being taken by athletic fielders. However, the kind of catch Rathi took in the first innings is one of the toughest since the fielder is running back and the ball is coming over the shoulder of the player.
