In the 21st match of the IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Rajasthan Royals. The Sunrisers Hyderabad did not perform well in their last match. They suffered a 6-wicket defeat against the Punjab Kings, handing them their third defeat of the tournament. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted ‌219 runs. Chasing this, Punjab chased down the target in 18.5 overs. 

However, Sunrisers’ top order performed brilliantly as Abhishek Sharma scored 74 runs in 28 balls, and Travis Head scored 38 runs. But due to the poor performance of their bowlers, Punjab chased the total comfortably. While bowling, Shivang Kumar played a brilliant game, taking three wickets for 33 runs in four overs, while Harsh Dubey got one wicket each.

On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals’ performance has been excellent so far. In the last match too, Rajasthan batted brilliantly and won by 6 wickets against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Batting first, Bengaluru posted a total of 201 runs. But Rajasthan Royals got a great start from the top order, due to which the Royals achieved the target two overs earlier. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a brilliant innings of 78, and Dhruv Jurel scored 81 runs. While Ravi Bishnoi, Jofra Archer and Brijesh Sharma are the standout performers with the ball, as they took two wickets each. While Sandeep Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja also took one wicket each.

The pitch at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad provides a batting-friendly surface, with a fast outfield making runs easy to score. This surface offers good bounce and high-scoring, competitive T20 matches. While traditionally advantageous for batters, the surface can dry out to assist spinners as the game progresses. Chasing has historically been successful here. The average first-inning score at this venue is 168 runs.
