MUMBAI: England captain Harry Brook is quite confident that his men do not need to go full tilt to beat the might of the Indian team in their semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 on Thursday, March 05. The two teams will be squaring off at the iconic setting of the Wankhede Stadium, and there is hope among the tourists that they will be able to pip India and silence more than 30,000 fans here.

Brook has reflected on his side’s campaign so far, suggesting that the games where they won have all been closely fought games. The youngster also believes that it was the unity of the side that eventually gave them wins throughout the tournament, ultimately paving their way into the semi-finals, where he wants his side to pull off a similar performance.

“No, I don’t believe that we need the perfect game to win the competition, to be honest. The games that we have won have been nowhere near perfect, and we still managed to get the wins convincingly in some of them and then tie it in the other games,” Brook said at the pre-match press conference here on Wednesday.

“It’s just the unity that we have had to be able to get across the line, the belief that everybody has shown throughout those games and the calmness that we have had when the bowlers have been at the top of the match. Or, for example, the way that Jacks and Rehan Ahmed have played it the other night – they are extremely calm. To get us over the line, needing 40 off the last three overs was awesome,” he added.

Notably, Brook has been in some great form at the moment and will be the key to his team’s chances in the upcoming fixture. However, the last time he played a T20I series against India in India, it was the mystery spin of Varun Chakravarthy that troubled him left, right, and centre. However, Brook is prepared this time round and wants to score plenty of runs against the leggie.
