Michael Vaughan lauded the England team, saying that Harry Brook’s men have found a way of winning their matches at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. The former England captain believes that the Three Lions have what it takes to surprise India in the second semi-final on Thursday, March 5, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Vaughan opined that England have a better spin-bowling attack than India and highlighted Varun Chakaravarthy’s inconsistency. He went on to call the spin trio of Liam Dawson, Adil Rashid, and Will Jacks the best in the competition.

“England seem to have found a way of winning. England have a better spin attack than India. [Varun] Chakravarthy has been got at; Dawson, Rashid and Will Jacks have been the best trio in the tournament in terms of spin,” Vaughan said while speaking on the Test Match Special podcast.

“Dawson, Rashid and Will Jacks have been the best trio in the tournament in terms of spin,” Vaughan said.

The 51-year-old also praised England’s fielding as well as their running between the wickets. India, on the other hand, have dropped many catches during the tournament. Abhishek Sharma dropped two regulation catches in the last game against the West Indies.

“England’s fielding has been absolutely exceptional. They look really alert. England’s running between the wickets has been exceptional. The small percentage of things you can control, England seem to be doing very well.”

Vaughan believes that England could come up trumps against defending champions India in the highly-anticipated knockout clash.

“I just have a funny feeling England can get the job done in Mumbai,” the cricketer-turned-expert concluded.

England didn’t have a great outing in the group stage as they lost to the West Indies and had to toil hard to beat inexperienced teams like Nepal and Italy. However, they peaked during the Super 8, winning all three of their matches against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and New Zealand. Brook and Co. are currently on a five-match winning streak.
