Zimbabwe have emerged as one of the biggest underdogs in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, stunning the cricketing world with a memorable group-stage victory over Australia and Sri Lanka. They are placed in Group B alongside Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Oman. Zimbabwe have shown that they are capable of challenging stronger opponents on the global stage.
Although Zimbabwe have not won an ICC tournament so far, they have consistently pushed top teams and produced surprising results over the years. Under the leadership of Sikandar Raza, the team looks balanced and confident. The batting unit includes explosive talents such as Tadiwanashe Marumani, Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl and Dion Myers, all of whom have the ability to score quickly or anchor chases under pressure.
Here is a look at the top three Batters for Zimbabwe in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 history:
Sikandar Raza

Sikandar Raza was born in Pakistan and has become one of Zimbabwe’s most influential cricketers across formats and a respected T20 performer worldwide. He made his first-class debut in the Logan Cup for Northerns in 2007 and later impressed for Southern Rocks during the 2010-11 season, scoring two fifties and a century in his opening matches. Raza made his international debut in May 2013 in white-ball series against Bangladesh and India.
That year proved to be highly successful as he amassed 1,380 white-ball runs and earned match awards in major victories, including games against Ireland and Pakistan. In 2023, at the age of 37, he was appointed Zimbabwe’s T20I captain. In 17 T20 World Cup matches, Raza has scored 353 runs, making him Zimbabwe’s leading run-scorer in the tournament’s history.
Brendan Taylor

Brendan Taylor is regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s finest batters. His career has significantly shaped the team’s fortunes, particularly in limited-overs cricket. Taylor rose to prominence during the 2007 T20 World Cup when his unbeaten 60 guided Zimbabwe to a famous five-wicket win over Australia in Cape Town.
Following the 2011 World Cup, he was appointed ODI captain and led Zimbabwe during their successful return to Test cricket, scoring centuries against Bangladesh and Pakistan. He also became only the third Zimbabwe batter, after the Flower brothers, to score centuries in both innings of a Test match. In nine T20 World Cup appearances, Taylor accumulated 276 runs.
Sean Williams

Sean Williams is a bold and dynamic left-handed batter known for his effective use of the reverse sweep. He captained Zimbabwe’s Under-19 side in the 2006 World Cup in Sri Lanka, highlighted by a win over England.
Williams is particularly strong against spin bowling and has often played match-winning knocks for his side. In 14 T20 World Cup matches, he has scored 275 runs, underlining his importance in Zimbabwe’s tournament history.
