Shakeel Ahmad recreated the iconic celebration by star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in Match No. 22 of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 between Oman and Ireland at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. During the fifth over of the first innings, Shakeel produced a jaffa that castled through Harry Tector’s defence to send the Irishman packing on the last ball of the over.
The wicket resulted in the third breakthrough for both Oman and Shakeel, as he had already got the better of both the Irish openers – Tim Tector and Ross Adair – in the first and third overs, respectively. The left-arm spinner ended with fantastic figures of 3/33 after four overs. Shakeel’s replication of the iconic CR7 celebration, which added a unique touch to the dismissal, with fans going crazy over the freak act.
