VHT 2025-26 Who is Devendra Singh Bora Bowler who dismissed Rohit Sharma for golden duck

Devendra Singh Bora secured the prized wicket of ace Indian batter Rohit Sharma during the second round matches of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy between Mumbai and Uttarakhand. After starring with a blistering 94-ball 155-run knock against Sikkim a couple of days back, the former Indian captain fell for a golden duck at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on December 26.

The dismissal occurred on the final ball of the first over of the match. The 25-year-old right-arm medium pacer landed the ball in a spot which compelled Rohit to hand a catch to Bora’s new-ball partner Jagmohan Nagarkoti, who later in the match dismissed Rohit’s opening partner Angkrish Raghuvanshi for a 20-ball 11.

This was just Bora’s third List A match, having made his debut in Uttarakhand’s first round clash against Himachal Pradesh, which they lost by 95 runs. He had impressed with the ball with a four-wicket haul (4/44 in 8.3 overs). His average and strike rate in List A cricket so far is 19.50 and 20.2, respectively.

Bora has a fait bit of experience in the First-Class arena, having played 15 red-ball matches, picking up a 30 wickets in 26 innings with a best of 6/79. He has picked up one five-wicket haul in a fledgling career up until now.

Earlier in the year, Bora impressed in the Uttarakhand Premier League, as he produced a massive impact for Dehradun Warriors, securing nine wickets in seven matches at an economy of 7.91.

Meanwhile, Mumbai ended up posting 331/7 in their 50-over quota. Bora ended up with figures of 3/74 in 10 overs. Other than Rohit, he picked up the wickets of Siddhesh Lad (21 off 32) and Shams Mulani (48 off 35). Wicketkeeper-batter Hardik Tamore top-scored with an unbeaten 93 off 82 in an innings which comprised seven fours and two sixes.
