3. Two hat-tricks in 2009 IPL for Punjab Kings

Yuvraj Singh had done well in initial editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), especially in the 2009 IPL. But his best performances came with the ball, as he became the first and only bowler with two hat-tricks in a single edition of IPL. His first IPL hat-trick came for Punjab Kings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 24th match in Durban. RCB had made 145/9, with Yuvraj taking 3/22, with his hat-trick coming in wickets of Robin Uthappa, Jacques Kallis, and Mark Boucher.

If this was not enough, then Yuvraj Singh achieved his second hat-trick just a few days after on May 17, when Punjab clashed with Deccan Chargers. Punjab made 134/7 in 20 overs, and Deccan made only 133/8 in 20 overs, losing only by one run. Yuvraj Singh took 3/13, including the hat-trick with wickets of Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds, and Venugopal Rao. 

2. 70*, SRH v DD, IPL 2017

This was the 40th match of the IPL 2017, played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils in Delhi. SRH batted first and made 185/3 in 20 overs, with David Warner scoring 30, Shikhar Dhawan 28, and Kane Williamson 24. But the best knock from SRH came from Yuvraj Singh, who smashed 70* in 41 balls with 11 fours and one six, propelling their total to a good one.

However, Yuvraj’s knock went in vain as Delhi chased down the total with six wickets in hand. Corey Anderson made 41*, Karun Nair got 39, and Rishabh Pant 34.

1. 83, RCB v RR, IPL 2014

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals clashed in the 35th match of IPL 2014 in Bengaluru on May 11. RCB batted first and posted 190/5 in 20 overs despite them losing their top order, which faltered with Virat Kohli making four, Chris Gayle 19, and Vijay Zol 16 runs.

But it was AB de Villiers’ 58 in 32 balls with five sixes and one four and Yuvraj Singh who rescued them. Yuvraj was the star, scoring 83 in 38 balls with seven fours and seven sixes. RR chased the total down, with Karun Nair making 56, Steve Smith making 48* in 21 balls, and James Faulkner scoring 41* in 17 balls. RR won the game by five wickets.
