England and Pakistan clashed in the 7th match of the NatWest series in 2001 at Leeds. Waqar won the toss and chose to bowl first. England faced his wrath as he demolished their batting with a career-best 7/36. As a result, England could manage only 156 runs. He picked the first six England wickets to fall, and only 53 by Ben Hollioke and 40* by Darren Gough added some respectability to England’s total.
In response, Abdul Razzaq made 70 as Pakistan won the game as England conceded the game after a pitch invasion by fans. Waqar won the Player of the Match.
