Ravichandran Ashwin shared a cryptic tweet after India’s defeat to Australia in the second ODI at the iconic Adelaide Oval on Thursday, October 23. Mitchell Marsh and Co. took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, making the final game on Saturday an inconsequential affair.

Former India off-spinner Ashwin, who retired from Indian cricket in August 2025, posted Nike’s “Swoosh” logo with a twist. The logo had the Indian tricolour instead of its signature black colour. He also changed the slogan from “Just Do It” to “Just Leave It”.

While Ashwin didn’t provide any context in the caption, some fans have linked the post to India’s two-wicket loss to Australia in the second ODI. A few fans also believed that it was a message in disguise for Virat Kohli, who registered his second consecutive duck in the series on Thursday. However, Ashwin isn’t someone who minces his words or is afraid to speak candidly. He also shares great camaraderie with Kohli, and even if he has to say anything to the former India captain, he would say it directly to him.

On Thursday, Shubman Gill lost the toss once again and Mitchell Marsh opted to field first for the second time in the series. Shubman and Virat Kohli were dismissed early in the piece before half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer resurrected the ship.

Axar Patel also chipped in with a quickfire 44 off 41 balls. However, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy were dismissed cheaply. The tourists were reeling at 226/8, but Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh threw their bats around and helped them set a target of 265.

Matthew Short hit a brilliant half-century at the top of the order, but India kept picking up wickets to stay in the contest. However, Cooper Connolly held the innings together with an unbeaten fifty and helped Australia get over the line in 46.2 overs, with two wickets to spare.
