Los Angeles Waves CC crashed out in Qualifier 2 of the inaugural edition of the National Cricket League T10 last year. However, they emerged victorious in the second edition on Tuesday, October 14, beating Dallas Lonestars CC in the summit clash at the University of Texas Dallas by 18 runs.

During the round-robin phase of the tournament, Los Angeles finished fourth in the standings, winning three and losing two out of the five matches they played. The George Munsey-led side defeated Atlanta Kings CC in the Eliminator and Houston Generals CC in Qualifier 2 to make it to the finals. In the title decider, Los Angeles defended a 101-run target to lift the title.

Ali Nadeem opened for Los Angeles Waves in all the matches except the first one. He gave some blistering starts to his team, forming a lethal opening combination with Munsey. In the final, he won the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten knock of 47 off 28 balls. During the tournament, the Canada batter slammed 115 runs in seven innings at an average of 19.2 and a strike rate of 157.5.


2. George Munsey

George Munsey led his team from the front. He finished the tournament as the highest run-getter for his team and second-highest overall. In eight innings, he amassed 152 runs at an average of 30.4 and a strike rate of 140.7. The Scotland batter’s electrifying knock of 32 off 11 balls in Qualifier 2 will remain one of the major highlights of the tournament.

Pakistan fast bowler Rumman Raees had a consistent run in the tournament. He finished with the most wickets, bagging 11 scalps from eight matches at an average of 7 and a strike rate of 7.1. The 33-year-old bowled his overs at a magnificent economy rate of 5.9. Raees bowled phenomenally well in the final, finishing with figures of 2/12 in two overs.
