Australian batting all-rounder Cooper Connolly has recently shared his views on the ‘aura’ of ‘world-class players’ like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. India will square off against Australia in an eight-match white-ball series which will comprise three ODIs followed by five T20Is, as the star cricketers are keeping the fans eager of their return to the international scene.

Connolly also commented that he was saying the remarks on Rohit and Kohli based on previously playing against them. The 22-year-old also expressed his admiration for Virat Kohli and was looking forward to playing some high-quality cricket with two competitive teams taking on each other.

“It’s exciting, they’re two world-class players. I’ve played them both before and there’s a bit of aura about them. You just think, ‘these guys have played a lot of cricket,’ and they have that strut about them,” stated Connolly, as quoted by The West Australian.

“They own this game, pretty much. I’ve obviously looked up to Virat. He’s a nice player, and it’d be an honour to share the field one last time with him. It’s exciting, there will be a lot of fans here to watch those two go about it pretty much, and we’re excited to play some good cricket,” he added.

Rohit and Kohli last played for India during the 2025 Champions Trophy title-winning run in the UAE. Both of them have already called it a day from T20Is and Test cricket. A lot will be understandably expected from the seasoned duo in the upcoming three-match ODI series, as the experts have said that this tour will decide their fate in international cricket for the next couple of years.

The three ODIs will be played on October 19 (Perth), October 23 (Adelaide) and October 25 (Sydney). The 20-over leg will follow after a three-day gap, where the sides will engage in a five-match assignment.

Several of India’s players are currently engaging in the ongoing Test series against West Indies. The second game is being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Shubman Gill-led unit won the first contest by an innings and 140 runs in Ahmedabad.
