India and Pakistan are set to face other in the 2025 Asia Cup final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday, September 28. This will be the first time that the arch-rivals will clash in the finals of the Asia Cup.

India have had the upper hand against Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup, having beaten the Men in Green twice in two meetings. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side is unbeaten in the tournament, having registered six wins on the trot.

No match has been interrupted by rain as yet. However, some fans have been wondering what will happen if the final gets washed out.

According to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) rules for the multi-nation competition, the trophy will be shared between the finalists in case the match ends in a No result due to weather or any other reason.

However, there is a reserve day scheduled, and that is why the chances of a shared trophy are bleak. There have been no such instances in the Asia Cup where the teams shared the title like India and Sri Lanka did in the Champions Trophy final in 2002. The reserve day is on Monday, September 29.

If play is not possible or the game is abandoned on the original match day, September 28, the match will be shifted to the next day.

India are coming into this clash on the back of a thrilling win against Sri Lanka in the Super Over on Friday. Abhishek Sharma, who has been the best batter on show in this tournament, scored a blistering half-century to lift India to 202/5 in their 20 overs. However, Pathum Nissanka’s maiden T20I century helped Sri Lanka level the scores. In the end, the Men in Blue won in the Super Over.

Meanwhile, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in a virtual semi-final clash on Thursday to punch their ticket to the final. They were restricted to just 135/8 after being asked to bat first. However, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Saim Ayub bowled sensational spells to keep Bangladesh down to 124/9.
