Abhishek Sharma continued his red-hot form in the ongoing Asia Cup, smashing 75 off just 37 deliveries against Bangladesh in the fourth match in the Super Fours. The fans arrived in numbers at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, September 24, in the hope of watching some exhilarating cricket. Abhishek managed to entertain the crowd with his electrifying batting in the first innings.
The Punjab batter belted six fours and five sixes during his knock. He had raced to 75 inside 11 overs and was looking set to bring up the first century in this edition of the Asia Cup. However, he was dismissed in the 12th over, courtesy of a brilliant piece of fielding from Rishad Hossain at backward point.
Suryakumar Yadav cut the first ball of the 12th over, bowled by Mustafizur Rahman, towards the left of backward point. However, Rishad anticipated well and put in a dive to stop a certain boundary. He managed to get the ball in his control on his first attempt, and he hurled a throw towards the non-striker’s end. Mustafizur did well to get back in time and effect the run out as Abhishek failed to make it back to his crease after being sent back by his captain.
