Asia Cup 2025: 3 Oman players to watch out for

Oman will make their Asia Cup debut this year. Placed in Group A with India, Pakistan, and the UAE, Oman is one of the three teams that qualified for the Asia Cup after featuring in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2024. They lost the final of the tournament against the UAE by 55 runs. They have played just three T20I games this year and are yet to record a win. Oman will face India and Pakistan for the first time in a T20I game in the tournament. Against the UAE, Oman has won four out of nine games.

1. Jatinder Singh

Jatinder Singh is the leading run-scorer for Oman in T20Is with 1399 runs in 64 matches at an average of 24.54 and a strike rate of 24.54. He has made eight half-centuries in T20Is in his career. Jatinder has made two half-centuries in three T20I games for Oman this year.

2. Mohammed Nadeem

Mohammed Nadeem has been one of the best all-rounders for Oman in T20Is. He has taken 34 wickets in 61 games at an average of 31.79, an economy of 7.69, and a strike rate of 24.7. With the bat, Nadeem has made 641 runs at an average of 20.03 and a strike rate of 110.51. He has scored two half-centuries in T20Is.

3. Shakeel Ahmed

Shakeel Ahmed made his T20I debut in 2023 and has featured in 34 matches so far. He has made 223 runs at an average of 14.86 and a strike rate of 105.18. With the ball, Shakeel has taken 27 wickets at an average of 28.18, an economy of 6.67, and a strike rate of 25.3.
