Social media users have lashed out at the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the official broadcast partners for going ahead with approving the marquee clash between India and Pakistan to take place and be broadcasted at the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. India and Pakistan are scheduled to take on each other on September 14.

There were earlier reports which suggested that the BCCI might not even approve India to go ahead with participating. However, it was later clarified that they would in fact take part. This particular news itself brought about a lot of resentment among the public, who were strictly against any involvement with Pakistan, especially after the horrific Pahalgam terror attacks which claimed the lives of several innocent tourists.

For the unversed, two of India Champions’ World Championship of Legends’ matches were called off without a ball being bowled after a few cricketers from the Indian team displayed public disapproval of taking part in the fixtures. Commenters are comparing the behaviour of those cricketers with the current crop, none of whom have showed visible signs of dissatisfaction up until now.

T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and chairperson of the All India Men’s Senior Selection Committee had announced India‘s 15-member squad and five standby players at the headquarters of the BCCI in Mumbai. India and Pakistan are scheduled to take on each other on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
