The 14th game of The Hundred 2025 will pit the Northern Superchargers against the Birmingham Phoenix on August 15 at Headingley, Leeds.
Birmingham are in the second-to-last position with four points and a net run rate of -1.074 after only one win in their first three games. Meanwhile, after suffering back-to-back losses, the Phoenix eventually rediscovered their form with a victory over the Oval team in their third game.
In contrast, the Superchargers have won two of their last three games, giving them eight points and fourth place in the points table. They will be keen to keep up their winning streak in hopes of earning a playoff berth.
Here are the top 3 player battles to watch out for in match 14 of The Hundred Men’s 2025:
1. Liam Livingstone vs Adil Rashid

Liam Livingstone is by far the best batter for Birmingham Phoenix, and it has been evident from his record thus far. His 120 runs in three games have come at a strike rate of 157.89. Livingstone loves to smash spinners, as evident from his destruction of Rashid Khan the other day. The Superchargers, however, can try their own leg-spin wizard to their advantage to get him out.
Adil Rashid is a master leggie and has bamboozled even the best of the best. He has shown his skill with four wickets with an economy of 6.70 in the ongoing tournament. If Rashid manages to get Livingstone early, Phoenix might struggle. But if Livingstone dominates Rashid, the Superchargers can lose the momentum of the game in the middle order.
2. Zak Crawley vs Trent Boult

Zak Crawley is the top run-getter for the Northern Superchargers with 98 runs at a strike rate of 163.33. But his biggest test will be against Phoenix’s most skilled left-arm pacer, Trent Boult. Though Boult has been quiet in this competition so far, he carries a reputation of taking wickets early in the innings.
Crawley would need to survive the initial burst from Boult in the opening overs and then take on the other bowlers to give Superchargers the advantage. On the other hand, Boult’s early movement could trouble Crawley, particularly in Leeds. If he gets Crawley for cheap, it would be a huge bonus for Phoenix right at the start.
3. Harry Brook vs Benny Howell

Harry Brook has been the enforcer for the Northern Superchargers in middle overs with 94 runs at a 154.09 strike rate. His big hitting has helped Superchargers post competitive totals and even chase down targets. But his challenge in this match will be to face the wily medium pace of Phoenix’s Benny Howell.
Howell has taken five wickets thus far with a decent economy of 7.41 and a best of 2/25. He can change the course of the game if he gets Brook out early. On the other hand, Brook’s ability to read Howell’s changes of pace could define this contest.
