Though India eventually won in the tie-breaker, Williamson’s innings was the standout performance of the game.

The Tauranga-born produced a memorable knock in the 2021 T20 World Cup Final against Australia in Dubai. Despite New Zealand losing the toss and batting first, Williamson hammered 85 off 48 deliveries. He took on Australia’s bowling attack, hitting 10 fours and three sixes at a strike rate of over 177. Williamson’s innings was instrumental in taking New Zealand to 172/4. However, Australia chased the target successfully.

3. 73 (55) vs Bangladesh, Mount Maunganui, 2017

One of Kane Williamson’s most clinical T20I knocks came against Bangladesh in January 2017. Chasing a target of 142, Williamson guided the Black Caps to a six-wicket win with a 73-run innings off 55 balls. He laced his knock with five boundaries and two sixes. His captain’s knock steadied the innings after the team lost wickets in regular intervals. He was awarded the Player of the Match.
