Jason Roy earned his maiden Indian Premier League contract in 2017 after starring for England at the 2016 T20 World Cup. 

Roy spent the bulk of IPL 2017 in the dugout for Gujarat Lions. He played five matches each for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 and 2021. Roy represented Kolkata Knight Riders in his fourth IPL season in 2023.

1) 91* off 53 vs Mumbai Indians (2018)

Chasing 195 for victory, DD were off to a blistering start courtesy of Roy’s power-packed start. He brought up his fifty on the second ball of the 11th over. He had cooled down for a bit while batting with Rishabh Pant, the latter assuming the role of the aggressor during their stand.

Roy stood unbeaten till the end to secure a last-over thriller at the Wankhede. He was awarded the Player of the Match for his boundary-heavy display alongside the two catches he snagged in the first innings.

2) 61 off 26 vs Chennai Super Kings (2023)

Roy pummelled Moeen Ali for three back-to-back sixes after facing his first ball after coming in to bat at No. 5. By the time he got to his half-century, Roy had struck three fours and five sixes.

He was looking in full flow after stroking two consecutive fours off Maheesh Theekshana. Roy had more than enough time to surpass his highest IPL score of 91*. However, he was dismissed courtesy of beautifully disguised carrom ball.

3) 60 off 42 vs Rajasthan Royals (2021)

Roy made up for his slow start by stroking five boundaries in the fourth and fifth overs. The track in Dubai was not the easiest to bat on for batters from both sides. He got to his fifty via a six and a four off Rahul Tewatia off his 35th and 36th balls, respectively.

Roy did not really stick till the end of the innings. He was dismissed after scoring 60 off 42. However, his well-paced knock meant SRH claimed a seven-wicket win and Roy secured the POTM award.
