Indian spinner Radha Yadav pulled off a sensational catch in the final moments of the fifth T20I to dismiss Amy Jones, with England needing just five runs from three balls. Despite her brilliance, England held their nerve to win the match by five wickets. However, India claimed the five-match series 3-2, their first-ever T20I series win away against England.

The dramatic catch came in the 20th over when Arundhati Reddy bowled a length delivery, and Jones attempted a slog sweep. Radha, stationed at deep midwicket, sprinted forward and pulled off a stunning low catch. Though the ball briefly jumped out and one of her hands lost control, she maintained a firm grip with her right hand to complete the dismissal.

The third umpire reviewed the catch several times before ruling it out. It was Arundhati’s second wicket of the over, tightening India’s grip on the match momentarily. Jones departed after scoring 10 off 12 balls.

Earlier in the match, India posted 167 for 7 in their 20 overs. The opener Shafali Verma starred with a blistering 75 off 41 balls, including 14 boundaries. Richa Ghosh contributed a quick 24 off 16, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to provide substantial support. England’s Charlie Dean was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets in her four-over spell, while Sophie Ecclestone claimed two.

England chased 168 runs and crossed the line off the very last ball in a tense finish at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge anchored the innings with a solid 56 off 37 balls. She was supported well by Sophia Dunkley, who scored 46 off 30, and skipper Tammy Beaumont with a handy 30 off 20. In the closing stages, Paige Scholfield and Ecclestone held their nerve to seal the win.

For India, Deepti Sharma and Arundhati Reddy picked up two wickets each, while Radha’s fielding effort stood out.

Despite the loss in the final match, India celebrated a historic achievement, winning their first-ever T20I series on English soil. Charlotte Dean was named Player of the Match, while Shree Charani earned the Player of the Series award.

Both teams will now shift focus to the three-match ODI series, with the first game scheduled to be played at The Rose Bowl in Southampton on Wednesday, July 16.
