Indian batters had a highly productive outing with the bat on Day 4 of the first Test match against England at Headingley. One of the best performers in the game is India’s star wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, who went on to score a century in both the innings.

While the fans and the experts enjoyed the knock from the 27-year-old southpaw, commentators Michael Vaughan and Sunil Gavaskar discussed the new celebration from the Gabba Hero. The duo was curious to know why he did not repeat the same somersault celebration that was witnessed in the first innings.

“Can you explain what that celebration is? Do you know what that is? I was waiting for that flip as well. I was rather disappointed on commentary when he didn’t produce a double flip. Knowing Rishabh, he’s always going to try to improve his celebrations, but I guess your celebration is probably taking this bit,” Vaughan spoke on Sony Sports.

“No, this is, I think that’s basically, thanking the Gods above. He had something on his eye. He kind of put us on the signal,” Gavaskar replied.

Big chase to take place on the final day

The centuries from KL Rahul and Pant made sure India set a competitive target of 371 runs for the home team. While Pant scored 118 runs off 140 deliveries, Rahul emerged as the top scorer for India in the innings, scoring 137 off 247 deliveries. This was his ninth 100+ score in Test cricket.

England ended the day on a score of 21-0 with openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley at the crease. They still need to score another 350 runs to win the game, while the Indian bowlers will be looking to get all the 10 wickets and defeat the Ben Stokes-led side in the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
