[WATCH] TNPL 2025: Comedy of errors in field leads to three overthrows in Dindigul Dragons vs Siechem Madurai Panthers

The fielders of the Dindigul Dragons (DD) struggled to cover the field effectively, conceding three runs through multiple overthrows against the Siechem Madurai Panthers (SMP) in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025, at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem on Saturday, June 14.

In the final over of the match, Gurjapneet Singh and S. Rajalingam were at the crease. The right-hander smashed the ball toward extra cover, where Ravichandran Ashwin was stationed. Ashwin fielded the ball cleanly and threw it toward the bowler’s end, but the bowler failed to collect it.

Then the batters used the opportunity for a second run. Then, another fielder retrieved the overthrow and quickly sent the ball toward wicketkeeper Baba Indrajith, but he also failed to collect it. The batters seized the moment and ran for a third. In another attempt, the ball was thrown back to the bowler, who once again missed it, turning the last over into an unexpected game of dodgeball.
