Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has said that Suryakumar Yadav is a sure-shot pick in any 20-over side in the world. He went onto say that anyone not picking the dynamic batter into the side would make a blunder.

Tiwary highlighted that Suryakumar has not registered a single score below 25 in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League so far (including the ongoing Qualifier 2 against PBKS). He also elaborated on how versatile Suryakumar is when with a vast expanse of shots in his arsenal.

“Will select him with my eyes closed. If someone doesn’t take him into the squad, it means that he is quiet dull-witted when it comes to understanding the game. He is that sort of player who feels as if he gets set right from the dressing room. It doesn’t feel as if he leaves behind his past innings, it’s almost as if he carries them forward,” Tiwary told Cricbuzz.

“There hasn’t been a single instance where he has scored less than 25 runs in an innings this season. He doesn’t have any fear while batting. Whichever batter you talk about this season, they would have a maximum of two shots for every ball. This guy (Suryakumar) has three-four shots ready to be deployed,” added Tiwary.

Tiwary also addressed how lethal Suryakumar has been against spinners, almost in awe of how he had a response to any sort of delivery bowled by them. Suryakumar has been instrumental for MI this season. Speaking of the ongoing game, he was dismissed for yet another sparkling cameo (44 off 26). He has scored a total of 717 runs in 16 innings this season at a splendid average and strike rate of 65.18 and 167.91, respectively.
