3 things Rishabh Pant needs to do to get back to form

Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant is struggling to get back to form. He was the biggest auction pick in IPL history as he went for an astonishing 27 crores. The LSG management was desperate for a captain and wicketkeeper as KL Rahul exited the franchise the previous year. But as the IPL 2025 season started, Pant faced the real struggle.

We are nearing the tournament end, and still, there is no ray of hope for Pant to get back to his prime form. It looks like the auction money has mounted over him, adding more pressure to the 27-year-old youngster. So, there are three things we expect Rishabh Pant to do to get back to form before the restart of this IPL season.

3. Play down the order

Coming back to form all of a sudden is too difficult for any batter in cricket. Even legends like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma struggled to overcome this kind of challenge. But with a proper plan and execution, he could get back to form slowly and steadily. As we all know, Pant is having trouble getting the bat on the ball. He could bat in the lower middle order, which gives him more time to observe the situation. With only a few balls left to face, he will have less pressure and can attack from ball one without worrying about carrying the batting lineup.

2. Get back to his old style

We all know Pant is a good player of spin, and very often we have seen him playing some unorthodox shots, breaking the rhythm of the bowlers. So, getting back to his old style of batting will bring the OG pant back. He should practice more unorthodox shots in the nets and come down the order and try to break the rhythm of the opposition.

1. Forget the Auction prize

The big auction prize and the responsibility of leading the LSG team have gone into his head, and the fear of failing is what is pulling him down. That was also the biggest reason for his lack of form. All Rishab Pant needs to do is forget the responsibility and play with more freedom. We all knew he was more effective with that kind of mindset. In the final BGT test at Sydney, Pant played one of the best innings in test history, smashing the Australian bowlers to all parts. If he plays more independently without thinking about the auction and leadership, he can get back to form very soon.
