WATCH Virat Kohli shares heartwarming Mother's Day message with rare photos – Images go viral

The legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli shared a touching note on social media to celebrate Mother’s Day by honouring the women in his life. The ace batter posted lovely pictures of his wife Anushka Sharma, along with his mother Saroj Kohli, and Anushka’s mother.

The post featured personal moments, including a beautiful photo of Anushka caringly holding their son, Akaay. The other slides included nostalgic throwback images of a young Virat with his mother Saroj, capturing their deep bond.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers of the world. I was born to one, accepted by one as a son, and have seen one grow into a strong, nurturing, loving, and protective mother to our children. We love you more and more every day,” Kohli wrote on his official Instagram handle.

Amid retirement rumours, Virat Kohli remains focused on IPL 2025

The Delhi-born cricketer has been making headlines recently following widespread speculation about his retirement plans. Reports suggest that the right-handed batter is contemplating stepping away from Test cricket. However, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has reportedly urged him to reconsider, especially with a crucial India’s tour of England on the way.

For the unversed, Team India are set to face England in a five-match Test series away from home. Notably, the series will commence on June 20, 2025, which also marks the start of the World Test Championship 2025-27 (WTC) cycle.

Currently, the star player is focussing on his Indian Premier League (IPL) duties, opening the batting for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The 18th edition of the IPL was suspended for a week due to rising cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. However, the BCCI is expected to resume the tournament by the end of next week.
