With security concerns intensifying following cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, IPL (Indian Premier League) chairman Arun Dhumal has stated that the tournament will continue as scheduled unless the Indian government instructs otherwise.
The 2025 edition of the IPL has faced an unprecedented challenge after border tensions between India and Pakistan led to the midway abandonment of the fixture between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium on May 8. Three floodlight towers went off, forcing an evacuation of players and nearly 80% of a 23,000-strong crowd due to power outages and increasing military activity in nearby regions.
