3 Milestones achieved in RCB vs CSK IPL 2025 clash

Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed the huge clash of titans on Saturday night. Royal Challengers Bengaluru took on Chennai Super Kings as the two rivals from Southern India battled for the second time this season. In the last meeting it was RCB who beat CSK in the latter’s home ground by 50 runs. 

MS Dhoni sent RCB into bat after winning the toss and saw the home team reach 213 runs on the board. The first wicket stand between Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli was worth 97 runs. Bethell was dismissed for 55 while Kohli top scored with 62. 

CSK began their innings with Ayush Mhatre and Shaik Rasheed adding 51 runs in just 27 balls. Rasheed was out after scoring 14 off 11 balls while Sam Curran dismissed for run-a-ball five. Ayush Mhatre then hit 94 runs from 48 balls while Jadeja was not out on 77 off 45 balls as RCB kept their cool to win by two runs.

Virat Kohli began the day with 299 sixes and hit five more to take his tall to 304. This is the most any batter has hit for any single franchise in the history of the IPL. Kohli reached the mark in the second ball of the third over of the RCB innings which was bowled by Khaleel Ahmed. It is yet another record for Kohli on a day when he became the highest run-getter in IPL history against Chennai

Romario Shepherd fifty of 14 balls

West Indian cricketer Romario Shepherd registered the joint second fastest fifty in the history of IPL against CSK on Saturday night. The right-handed batter was batting on 47 off 13 balls when he hit a six in the final ball of the over to reach his fifty off just 14 balls. 

Ayush Mhatre third youngest to score IPL fifty

Young batting sensation Ayush Mhatre gave CSK the early impetus with the bat while chasing 214 runs to win. The17-year-old scored his maiden fifty in the IPL off just 25 balls. This made Mhatre the third youngest batter in IPL history to score a fifty. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the fastest to score the fastest fifty in the game against Gujarat Titans while Riyan Parag is at number two.
