Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a 38-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 2. This win was GT’s seventh in the ongoing IPL 2025 season.
Batting first, GT raced to 82/0 in the powerplay. Sai Sudharsan missed out on his sixth half-century, falling for 48 off 23. By the 10th over, GT had racked up 120 on the board. Skipper, Shubman Gill, impressed with a quickfire 76 off 38 before being dismissed in the 13th over. Jos Buttler contributed with a vital 64 off 37. A late triple-wicket over from Jaydev Unadkat in the final secured a three-wicket haul (3/35 in four overs). GT posted a commanding 224/6 after 20 overs.
Travis Head (20 off 16) was caught brilliantly by Rashid Khan in the deep. Playing his first game of the season, Gerald Coetzee dismissed Ishan Kishan (13 off 17). SRH crawled to 85/2 at the halfway stage. Abhishek Sharma fought hard with a spirited 74 off 41 but found little support from the other end. Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj picked up two wickets apiece. SRH managed to end their innings on 186/6.

1. Gill’s run-out drama ignites debate
The final ball of the 13th over had Gill short of the crease while trying to run a single. Initial replays showed Gill short of his ground. However, the decision appeared far tighter upon closer inspection by the third umpire. It looked as if Klaasen’s gloves and not the ball may have dislodged the bails. Gill was visibly displeased afrer being ruled out, and engaged in a brief verbal exchange with the officials off the field.

2. Rashid dismisses Head with a stunning catch
A hoic towards deep midwicket by Head was snapped up by Rashid in a stunning piece of brilliance by the Afghan all-rounder. Running in from a deep square leg, Rashid covered a lot of distance to end up pouching the ball.
