3 changes KKR should make before their clash against DC

The Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to lock horns against the Delhi Capitals in the 48th game of the Indian Premier League 2025, slated to take place on April 29th at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, Delhi. The side is already on the brink of elimination, as they have registered just three wins while having five defeats to their name, placing them in the seventh spot of the points table.

Ajinkya Rahane and his men need to win this clash, as a loss in this game would knock them out and bolster the chances of the hosts to book their playoff berth. The side suffered defeat against GT before their last game against PBKS was washed out due to rain. They need to make crucial changes to mark a turnaround. Speaking about the same subject, here are the top three changes that KKR should make ahead of their clash against DC.

1. Replace Chetan Sakariya with Anrich Nortje

Anrich Nortje

KKR has lacked a quality pace attack in the IPL 2025. They tried options such as Spencer Johnson, Vaibhav Arora, and Chetan Sakariya to help Harshit Rana. Anrich Nortje is the best option they have. The express pacer might just be the perfect fit in KKR.

2. Open the batting with Angkrish Raghuvanshi

One of the biggest reasons behind KKR’s failures in the 18th edition of the league has been their opening combination. Neither Quinton De Kock nor Rahmanullah Gurbaz has clicked with the bat. Since their presence is necessary for wicketkeeping, it’s better to push Sunil Narine down the order to allow Angkrish Raghuvanshi to open the innings.

3. Bowl full quota of Andre Russell

Andre Russell

Andre Russell has yet to bowl a full quota of his spell in any of his matches in the IPL 2025. Despite the concerns about his fitness, Russell has consistently clocked in the high 130s with a short run-up. Whenever KKR needs wickets, he steps up, only for a small period, as Rahane hasn’t used his bowling enough.
