IPL 2025: Predicting RR’s playing XI for their clash against RCB

The ‘number eight’ Rajasthan Royals will take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 42nd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The contest will be hosted by Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, April 24. It will be a crucial and must-win game for the Royals to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

RR are currently struggling in the eighth position in the tournament standings, with only two wins and six defeats in their eight games so far, having only 4 points to their name. They are coming off four consecutive defeats in the last four games, including the narrow 2-run win against LSG in the last game. A win in this game will help them stay alive with the ‘string of a thread’.

Here are the predicted Playing XI of RR for their clash against RCB:

Nitish Rana

The middle order of the Rajasthan Royals is expected to start with the star number three batter Nitish Rana, who has been in good touch with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2025, except for a few poor performances in the last few games. He was followed by stand-in skipper Riyan Parag at number four, who scored a crucial 39 runs off 26 balls, with three fours and two sixes.

Later in the middle order, wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel and star batter Shimron Hetmyer will be there to play at numbers five and six in the middle order. Young batter Shubham Dubey might also add some crucial runs in the lower middle order.

Bowlers –

Jofra Archer

RR’s bowling attack might include three out-and-out pacers, Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande. Archer, Deshpande, and Sandeep scalped a wicket each for their side in the last game’s first innings. Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma might play a crucial role in putting RCB under pressure during the powerplay overs in the next game.

The pace trio is expected to be accompanied by the specialist spin-bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who scalped 2 wickets at 31 runs in his four overs during the last game against LSG. He could also play a crucial role with the ball in the upcoming clash against RCB.
