Royal Challengers Bengaluru wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma took a brilliant catch to dismiss Shreyas Iyer in the 34th match of the IPL 2025 between RCB and Punjab Kings in a rain-affected game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Jitesh claimed a stunning grab and helped his side to be in the game while it was slipping away from their hands.

After a decent start from the duo of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, Iyer anchored the chase along with Josh Inglis. To get the key wickets, Rajat Patidar introduced Josh Hazlewood back into the attack. The Australian bowler did not disappoint his skipper, as he got rid of the dangerous right-handed batter to revive RCB’s chances.

Hazlewood operated on his usual shorter length and got a bit of extra bounce from the surface due to its damp nature. The PBKS skipper did not expect the bounce and went for a cut shot. In the process, he edged the ball, which flew quickly towards the keeper. Jitesh jumped with full might and grabbed the ball to complete a stunning catch.

We have been losing wickets in intervals: Patidar

RCB captain Rajat Patidar analysed the performance of his team after the match. RCB have now lost three games at their home ground this season. The skipper emphasised the importance of partnerships and not losing wickets at regular intervals.

“Initially it was sticking, and was two-paced. But I think we could have done far better as a batting unit. Partnerships are important in batting. We have been losing wickets in intervals. We left Padikkal out due to the conditions. Wicket was not that bad. It was under cover for a long time. It helped Punjab, and the way they bowled, credit goes to them. The bowling unit is doing pretty well. We have confidence on our bowling unit. Sometimes it clicks, sometimes it doesn’t. We’ll look at the batting unit first,” said Patidar.
