Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have had an impressive start to the IPL 2025 season, securing three victories out of the four matches played so far. They began their campaign with a commanding win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, setting a positive tone.

The RCB wicketkeeper, Jitesh Sharma has scored 85 runs in the three innings. The Vidarbha cricketer mentioned that his team is playing smart cricket rather than blindly attacking every bowler. The 31-year-old explained that they understand each other’s strengths well and follow the role set by the management. The Amravati-born cricketer revealed that each batter will target specific bowlers while others handle the rest. The right-handed batter admitted that every move is made strategically, with thoughtful decision-making.

“I think we are playing very smart cricket; it is not like we are just going out and whacking every bowler. We are playing smart cricket. We know everyone’s strengths, and our batting lineup knows each other very well. The team management has given us clear roles—like Jitesh Sharma will target certain bowlers, and the team will look after other bowlers. That’s the kind of strategy we have. So we are going very smartly. We are not trying to dominate blindly; we are making every decision thoughtfully,” Jitesh told RCB.

However, they faced their first setback in the third match, losing to Gujarat Titans (GT) at their home ground. They bounced back in their fourth match, defeating the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and registering their third win of the ongoing season.

Meanwhile, RCB will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 10 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru aiming to win their first home game of the season.
