IPL 2025: Funniest Memes from GT vs RR Mid-Innings of Match 23

In a rematch of the IPL 2022 final, the Gujarat Titans (GT) locked horns with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday in Match No. 23 of the 2025 edition. A brilliant batting display, thanks to Sai Sudharsan’s 82 and other batters, GT posted 217/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Having lost Shubman Gill early to Jofra Archer’s peach of a delivery, the home team got back on track, due to a partnership between Sudharsan and Jos Buttler. The English batter’s 36 off 25 kept the scoreboard ticking, but it was Sudharsan’s knock that anchored the innings. The Southpaw laced his innings with eight boundaries and three sixes before being dismissed by Tushar Deshpande.

Maheesh Theekshana brought RR back into the game with a double blow, removing Buttler and later stumping Shahrukh Khan for 36. But just when RR thought they had got back some control, Sherfane Rutherford’s cameo and Rahul Tewatia’s finish helped GT push their total over the 200-run mark.

With the Titans penalized for a slow over-rate, Tewatia made full use of the extra fielder in the ring during the final over. Targeting Sandeep Sharma, he hit two fours and a six, as he remained unbeaten on 24 off just 12 deliveries.

RR’s bowlers, apart from Jofra Archer (1/30), had a forgettable outing. Deshpande picked up two wickets but leaked 53 runs, while Theekshana (2/54) struggled with his lines. Fazalhaq Farooqi, returning in place of Wanindu Hasaranga, went wicketless and was expensive. Rajasthan’s batters will have to make the most of the red-soil wicket, which is expected to remain good for batting, and the ball might skid on under lights.
