Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant has had an aweful time with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2025. Pant, the most expensive buy in the tournament’s history, was dismissed for just two runs against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium to register his third single-digit score in four games this season.

He was dismissed by captain Hardik Pandya, who bowled a length delivery in 11th over. Pant tried to work it on the leg side but closed the bat’s face too early to give a leading edge to mid off, where substitute fielder Corbin Bosch grabbed a one-handed blinder as he dived and came sliding forward.

It was a huge blow for LSG as they had lost their in-form batter Nicholas Pooran in the ninth over. It was Aiden Markram’s (53 off 38) and Mitchell Marsh’s (60 off 31) brilliant start that saved the day for the hosts. Following them, Ayush Badoni (30 off 19) and David Miller (27 off 14) played quick cameos, helping LSG reach 203 runs by the end of their innings.

Meanwhile, MI skipper Pandya had an unforgettable day as he registered figures of 5/36 to become the first-ever captain to pick a fifer.
