[WATCH] IPL 2025: Phil Salt smashes 105m six off Mohammed Siraj, gets clean bowled next ball

Mohammed Siraj dismissed the dangerous Phil Salt immediately after being hit for a 105-metre six in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, April 2.

Former RCB star Siraj breathed fire in Gujarat’s last game against the Mumbai Indians, dismissing openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. He continued in the same vein against his former IPL side on Wednesday, delivering some excellent balls with the new ball after Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Siraj could have dismissed Salt in the first over itself, but Jos Buttler spilt a regulation catch behind the stumps. In the third over, the Hyderabad speedster cleaned up Devdutt Padikkal, who failed to connect after charging down the pitch. Siraj then had a chance to run Salt out off his own bowling in the fifth over, but he missed the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

A couple of deliveries later, Salt dispatched a short-of-length ball over mid-wicket after advancing down the track. The ball sailed over the roof for a 105-metre maximum. However, Siraj responded commendably on the very next delivery. Salt danced down the track once again, but this time, he was beaten for pace. The ball, bowled at 144 kph, went past the batter in no time and shattered the stumps.

RCB in trouble as middle order looks to rebuild

RCB are in a spot of bother, having lost four wickets for 42 runs inside the first seven overs. The onus will be on Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma to forge a partnership and set things up for the likes of Tim David and Krunal Pandya, who can go big at the death.
