What did Vijay say after playing devastating innings in the BPL?

বিপিএলে  বিধ্বংসী ইনিংস খেলে কি বললেন বিজয়?

Enamul Haque Vijay is playing for Fortune Barisal this season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This opener started the tournament well. But even though he played minor innings, he could not see big innings. Vijay did not even score a half-century in the first 7 matches of the season. Finally played a big inning. Barisal got the win thanks to his devastating innings.

In the match against Chittagong Challengers chasing the target, Vijay batted slowly in the beginning. Even after facing the first 10 balls, he scored only 1 run. But from there he reached his half-century in just 27 balls. In the end, his 50-ball innings stopped at 78 runs. Vijay hit 6 fours and sixes in this innings. He also won the man of the match award.

Despite winning the team’s best player award, Vijay wanted to finish the match. In the press conference, the wicket-keeper batsman said, “Despite a good start for so long, I could not extend the innings. Finally, after 7 innings I got some runs. I like to bat on this kind of wicket. I can score runs easily. Although I should have finished the match. But unfortunately, I couldn’t do that.”

Vijay’s half-century, meanwhile, has been added to the pages of a different record. He completed his half-century before the end of the power play against Chittagong. The Barisal opener set this precedent as the third batsman in the history of BPL. Only two batsmen have scored a half-century before the end of the power-play. They are Tamim Iqbal and Rony Talukder.

It should be noted that Vijay was dropped from the Bangladesh T20 team a few days ago. Vijay last played in the 2022 Asia Cup, against Afghanistan. This BPL is a comeback stage for Vijay, who was largely eliminated due to off-form. This right-handed batsman returned with a familiar face. However, there are still several matches left. He is waiting to match himself there.

After Tamim Iqbal’s retirement from T20, no one has been able to make such an impact in the opening. Although Vijay was considered a good option, he needed help to fulfil the needs of the team. As a result, he was dropped from the team. Vijay made a bird’s eye view of BPL. If you play well in the rest of the tournament, you can return to the T20 team Bangladesh.
