Shubman Gill exuded an aura of steely confidence ahead of Gujarat Titans’ opening clash of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League against Punjab Kings. Match 5 of the ongoing tournament will see GT take on PBKS at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, March 25.

He highlighted GT’s numbers in the past three seasons since its inception in 2022, backing the brand of cricket they have been playing over the years during one of the pre-match press conferences ahead of the game.

“I think if you look at our record for the past three years, we are the team with the most wins and the highest percentage of wins. So, if we continue to do that, it’s going to be another great season for us. And, just because it’s a new season, I don’t think you have to do anything different,” shared Gill during a pre-match press conference.

“I think over the past three years, we have played the most consistent cricket and the wins and the matches, it speaks for itself. And, I don’t think we need to change anything, we’ll continue playing the cricket we’ve been playing over the past three years,” added the GT skipper.

GT won the IPL in their first season in the marquee T20 league. They ended the group-stage with 10 wins out of 14. A seven-wicket victory against Rajasthan Royals guaranteed the title. It was a similar story for GT in the subsequent season as far as the league phase is concerned. However, they missed winning their second title in a row by a whisker, losing out to Chennai Super Kings in an encounter which went down to the wire.
