3 potential impact player options for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025

Five time Indian Premier League winners Mumbai Indians head into the new season with new hopes. Hardik Pandya, who had a tough start to life as the skipper of the Men in Blue and Gold last season will hope to turn his team’s fortunes around. In the last four years, MI haven’t won the title and they will hope to put their best foot forward in the coming season.

Mumbai Indians have signed some huge names ahead of the campaign with amazing IPL experience. The five time champions also have maintained their core squad which includes, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Tilak Varma, and skipper Pandya himself.

Here are the top 3 potential impact players for MI in IPL 2025 season

3. Deepak Chahar

For the first time in seven years of the IPL, fast bowler Deepak Chahar will play for a new team. The 32-year-old was part of Chennai Super Kings in the last few campaigns and has done well with the new ball. Chahar has been undergoing several injury issues over the last few years. Mumbai Indians can use Chahar as an impact player and play him solely as a bowler who can do the damage with the new ball.

2. Rohit Sharma

Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma came in as a impact player towards the end of last season. Rohit will also look at managing his workload with a huge tour of England coming up. Mumbai Indians will want their former skipper to bat well and using Rohit just as an impact player can be the right formula. Rohit would just need to bat and preserve himself of any injuries and manage himself during the course of the season.

1. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah

India’s ace pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the first few games of the new IPL season. The 31-year-old hasn’t played since January after walking out of the Sydney Test due to injury. Bumrah can be the right impact player for Mumbai Indians as the right-arm seamer will have to bowl only four overs and make his way off the field. This also helps Indian selectors and team management to keep a close eye on Bumrah’s workload ahead of the England tour in June.
