The top-order batter’s 50-ball knock comprised nine fours and three maximums. The Indian outfit chased down the 149-run target with six wickets in hand and 2.5 overs to spare.
Earlier in the day, Dwayne Smith (45 off 35) had started off in quite a promising fashion despite the fall of Brian Lara and William Perkins for six-run knocks, respectively. Lendl Simmons ended up as West Indies Masters’ leading run-getter with 57 to his name. Vinay Kumar ended up with a three-wicket haul. Shahbaz Nadeem was the pick of the bowlers though, conceding only 12 runs in his entire quota and picking up two wickets.
