Former English great James Anderson was left undrafted in the 2025 men’s The Hundred draft on Wednesday, March 12. He did not have a reserve price attached to his name. Anderson missed being picked for any of the 26 domestic slots across the eight participating teams.

The 42-year-old retired from international cricket in May 2024. He is currently serving as England’s bowling consultant. He had put his name forward for the draft after sealing a one-year deal with Lancashire for the forthcoming season. This fresh deal will witness him taking part in the T20 Blast. Anderson still has an opportunity to feature in The Hundred, provided he is picked during May’s wildcard draft.

Bracewell, Noor secure hefty deals

New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell and Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad each secured lucrative £200,000 deals and will represent Southern Brave and Manchester Originals, respectively. Bracewell impressed one and all with his all-round display at the recently-concluded Champions Trophy. Noor performed well in the previous edition of the SA20.

Having not been shortlisted in the previous year’s draft, David Warner was picked this time. He was snapped up by London Spirit at £120,000. This move will see the former Australian top-order batter reuniting with his ex-Australian head coach, Justin Langer. On the back of receiving the Player of the Tournament accolade in the Champions Trophy 2025 for his 263 runs in four innings and three dismissals with the ball, Rachin Ravindra was another The Hundred first-timer, having been selected by Manchester Originals for the same cost as Warner.

Having previously played for Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire, Lockie Ferguson joined Trent Rockets in the same pay bracket as his compatriot. An injured hamstring prevented him for taking part in the recent Champions Trophy for the Black Caps. The fifth edition of the tournament is scheduled to commence on August 5 later this year.
