Rohit Sharma was recently snapped along with the chairperson of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Jay Shah, with the T20 World Cup 2024 and Champions Trophy 2025 silverware on the balcony of a mezzanine floor of a high-rise in Dubai. This comes after the Indian skipper won the latter on Sunday, March 9, his team India triumphing in the final of the ODI tournament against New Zealand.

The former secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was present at the post-match presentation of the summit clash of the Champions Trophy 2025. India won the closely-fought game by a four-wicket margin with six deliveries to spare. It was the Men in Blue’s second win against New Zealand in the tournament, having already tasted a 44-run win in the group-stage of the 19-day tournament.

Rohit etches name in Indian cricket history

As a result of an unbeaten T20 World Cup 2024 and Champions Trophy 2025, Rohit beat MS Dhoni in becoming the first Indian captain to win two ICC titles without losing a single game. Under the leadership of Dhoni, India had won the T20 World Cup 2007, Cricket World Cup 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013. However, India lost a match each in the first couple of tournaments.

As for Rohit, his was a spotless road to glory. Last year’s T20 World Cup saw India win all their games barring the fixture against Canada which was abandoned due to incessant rain. India won all four of their games ahead of the final of the recently-concluded Champions Trophy.
