Stats: Zimbabwe batter Brian Bennett becomes fourth youngest to score 150+ runs in an ODI innings

Zimbabwe and Ireland clashed in the first ODI at the Harare Sports Club on February 14, and it was young Zimbabwe star Brian Bennett’s day as the batter smashed his career best score of 169 in the format. This was also the fifth highest individual score by a Zimbabwean in ODI cricket. Moreover, he is also the fifth ever Zimbabwean to breach the 150-run mark in ODIs.

Bennett is just 21 years and 96 days old, which made him fourth youngest player in history to post a 150+ score in an ODI innings. Paul Stirling’s 177 against Canada in 2010 scored at 20 years and four days old is at the youngest age. The most profound stat emerging from his innings is the fact that, he has overtaken one of the cricketing legends, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendullkar, to possess a 150+ score to his name in ODIs before turning 22.
