KINGS vs BRSAL (Final Match) – Highlights

In this article, we will discuss the thrilling final of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025, where BRSAL emerged victorious against KINGS in a high-intensity clash at Mirpur on February 7. Chittagong Kings set a formidable target of 195 runs, posting 194/3 in their 20 overs. However, Fortune Barishal, displaying remarkable resilience, chased down the target in 19.3 overs, securing a three-wicket win with three balls to spare.

Batting first, KINGS got off to a solid start, thanks to a brilliant opening partnership between Khawaja Nafay and Parvez Hossain Emon. Nafay was the aggressor early on, taking the attack to the Fortune Barishal bowlers with a flurry of boundaries. His 66-run knock off 44 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, provided the foundation for a big total. Emon, on the other hand, paced his innings beautifully, accelerating at the right moments to remain unbeaten on 78 off 49 balls.

Graham Clark added further impetus with a rapid 44 off just 23 deliveries, ensuring Chittagong Kings maintained their momentum in the death overs. However, a couple of quick wickets towards the end, including Shamim Hossain’s cheap dismissal for 2, prevented them from crossing the 200-run mark. Despite this, a total of 194/3 in 20 overs was an imposing score in a high-pressure final.

For BRSAL, the bowling unit struggled to contain the Kings’ batters, with only Mohammad Ali (1/21) and Ebadot Hossain (1/35) managing to pick up wickets. Tanvir Islam had a forgettable outing, conceding 40 runs in just two overs, while Kyle Mayers and Mohammad Nabi were unable to make significant inroads.

Chasing 195 in a high-stakes final, Fortune Barishal got off to a flying start, thanks to a breathtaking innings from their captain, Tamim Iqbal. The experienced opener played an explosive knock of 54 off just 29 balls, smashing nine boundaries and a six. His aggressive approach set the tone for the chase, as Barishal raced to 76 before Tamim was dismissed in the ninth over by Shoriful Islam.

Towhid Hridoy (32 off 28) played a composed innings, providing stability, but his dismissal in the 11th over put some pressure on Barishal. Dawid Malan’s stay at the crease was short-lived, as he fell for just 1, trapped lbw by Shoriful. However, Kyle Mayers stepped up with a counter-attacking 46 off 28 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes to keep the chase alive. His partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim (16 off 9) ensured that Barishal stayed ahead of the required run rate.

As the match approached its climax, Chittagong Kings struck back with quick wickets. Mahmudullah (7) and Mohammad Nabi (4) failed to make an impact, and with 22 runs needed off the last two overs, the pressure was immense. However, Rishad Hossain turned the game in Barishal’s favor with a sensational cameo, scoring 18 off just 6 balls, including two sixes. His fearless hitting took Barishal over the line with three balls to spare, as they finished at 195/7 in 19.3 overs, winning by three wickets.
