Predicting England’s Playing XI for their second T20I against India

Team India have taken a lead in the ongoing T20I series against England, 1-0. The second game is scheduled on January 25, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Both teams will be looking forward to having a thrilling game since the Chennai pitch wouldn’t favour the batters much. England have some great players in the squad and once they start striking, there’s no stopping them. The Jos Buttler-led team will look to take revenge and beat India in the upcoming game.

Here’s the predicted XI of England ahead of second T20I game against India:

Top Order

Phil Salt and Ben Duckett

Phil Salt, Ben Duckett and Jos Buttler are the top order batters for England. They have been brilliant in the format, scoring tons of runs for the team. Even in the previous game, Buttler scored a half-century, helping England get to a good score.

Middle Order

Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone

Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell and Jamie Overton are the middle order batters. They have to step up in the upcoming game. The failure of playing spinners perfectly cost them the previous game and they can’t let it happen again. None of the batters did well in the previous game which was disappointing.

Bowlers

Adil Rashid and Mark Wood

The bowling unit has to gear up as well. They weren’t impressive either. Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid and Mark Wood are the main bowlers. They just managed to pick up three wickets in the previous game which isn’t enough if they are playing against a team like India. England have to win the upcoming game to tie the series, 1-1.
