The Australian legend scored his last double-century against India back in 1948. When India went to tour Australia in the fourth Test match, the hosts elected to bat first. They scored 674 runs in the first innings, thanks to Sir Bradman’s double-century, Sid Barnes’ 112 runs, and Lindsay Hassett’s 198 runs. For India, Commander Rangachari claimed four wickets.
When India came to bat, they scored just 381 runs and were enforced follow-on. It was Vijay Hazare and Dattu Phadkar who scored centuries. For Australia, Ian Johnson claimed four wickets and wreaked havoc on the Indian batters.
He was a powerful bowler and did his best to restrict India. In the second innings, India scored just 277 runs and lost the game by an innings and 16 runs. Vijay Hazare scored another beautiful century, but this time, Ray Lindwall claimed seven wickets and closed the game for Australia. That was the last time Sir Donald Bradman scored a double century in Tests. He will remain the best batter in cricket history for the accolades during his career.
