Sourav not going to be the chairman of ICC

Sourav not going to be the chairman of ICC

A few days ago, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) appointed a new president. Because the three-year term of the last president Sourav Ganguly has ended. However, after losing power to Roger Bini, there were rumors that India will send Sourav’s name for the post of ICC president. But the Indian Cricket Board did not do that at the last minute. This was known from Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The last day to submit names to ICC was October 20. But India did not submit Sourav’s name. But the former Indian captain tried hard to enter the ICC. Sourav also met the administration after formally handed over to Bini on Tuesday.

Of course, Sourav was not going to the ICC was very predictable after the BCCI Annual General Meeting. Because there was no discussion about sending anyone’s name from India in that meeting. As a result, not only Sourav, India has not sent anyone’s name this time. However, it is known that BCCI will support New Zealand’s Greg Barkley for the post of ICC president.

Meanwhile, Sourav said after realizing his destination after losing the BCCI post, he wants to fight in the CAB elections again. He also said to prepare his own panel for the elections by October 20. It may be noted that Sourav worked as an administrator in CAB for five years before this.
