Bangladesh announce World Cup squad; Riyadh dropped out

Bangladesh will announce the T20 World Cup team, the discussion has been going on for several days. The calculations of who will get chance and who will not was going on. Finally, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in Australia.

Mahmudullah Riyad was not included in the team announced at the BCB media center on Wednesday. Before the announcement of the team, the biggest discussion in the country’s cricket was whether Riyad would be in the World Cup squad. In the end, this experienced cricketer is left out. Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh in the World Cup. Nurul Hasan Sohan has been assigned as his assistant.

Meanwhile, apart from Riyad, among the cricketers who played in the last Asia Cup, Enamul Haque Bijoy, Naeem Sheikh, Sheikh Mehdi Hasan and Parvez Hossain Imon have been dropped. Mushfiqur Rahim is also not in the team due to retirement. Liton Kumar Das, Yasir Ali Rabbi, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Hasan Mahmud returned in their place.

Spinning all-rounder Mehedi is the standby player. Apart from this, the young leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, Soumya Sarkar, who returned to the national team after a long time, and pacer Shariful Islam, who was excluded from the Asia Cup, are also in the list. If someone gets injured in the World Cup, then the standby cricketers will enter the main team.
