Sikandar Raza is the first player of the month in Zimbabwean cricket history

Sikandar Raza set a record as the first Zimbabwean cricketer. Won the prestigious ICC award with his eye-catching performance. He was selected as the ‘Player of the Month last August. Raza won this honor by scoring three centuries in a month. He is the first Zimbabwean cricketer to win this prestigious award.

His first century with the bat came against Bangladesh in August. He played unbeaten innings of 135 runs. The second century also came against Bangladesh. He scored 117 runs. The all-rounder defeated Bangladesh by scoring two centuries in the first two matches of the three-match ODI series.

The third century came against India. He scored 115 runs. Although Zimbabwe could not win that match. But these three centuries earned the 36-year-old all-rounder the Player of the Month award.

After expressing gratitude after winning the award, Raza said, “I feel very grateful and honored to win the Player of the Month award for August from the ICC. It feels even better to be the first Zimbabwean.” Notably, to achieve this feat, he has left behind New Zealand’s spinning all-rounder Mitchell Santner and England’s pace bowling all-rounder Ben Stokes.
